Long Awaited... Rebekah Maria Sum-Yun Spencer!

According to my lilypie ticker I am way overdue... but in actuality, R is here!

Here is the way overdue and long awaited post announcing (as if you all didn't know already) our newest addition to the family.

Weighing 7 pounds 8.5 ounces
and 19 inches long.

The labor and delivery went fairly smooth and was pretty much a condensed (and sped up timewise) version of our labor and delivery with E . Everything was basically the same except I had some pitocin in the beginning and didn't have a fever this time. Oh and I only threw up after I had given birth to R . A definite plus (compared to throwing up while in delivery). The best part though was that this time around I was so much more alert and could really remember more of what happened and experience the "new" mommy feeling, instead of being really out of it and feeling uber sick.

R also came out beautiful. Not as filled out as E (as she was born two weeks "earlier" than her older sister)... but no cone head and strong cry right at the beginning. After she was born they quickly wiped her down, let Ian cut her cord and then wrapped her up and gave her to me. She immediately stopped crying and was content. Amazing! (Can you smell me? Was it my heartbeat? I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything beyond a whisper of a "Shhhhhh".)

Now three weeks later (yes, it's been that long...) we're chugging along. R and I are still working on "the perfect latch" (darn those doctors at Kaiser who tell me I must supplement with bottles and give my poor girls nipple confusion) and get some semblance of a "normal life". Ian is trying to get some work done while applying for jobs for next year while helping take care of the girls and enjoy R in her newborn stage of cuteness and sleep. E is adjusting to having a new sister and having less "Mommy" to go around, but is in love with Baby Bekah. I'm still trying to recover and get some rest (hard with a 2 year old toddler and a busy husband). And we're all trying to find some balance in a new routine to keep our sanity (or is that just me?).
